Ashley Elia, DVM, CVA — Chief of Staff
Dr. Ashley Elia, our Chief of Staff, has been part of the Cresskill Animal Hospital family since September 2011. She grew up in Tenafly, New Jersey and currently resides in Cliffside Park with her husband and her black lab mix, Wesley (aka "Wezzy"). Dr. Elia received an undergraduate degree at Wesleyan University in 2004 and then attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, earning a DVM degree in 2009. Prior to joining our team, she practiced at Banfield Pet Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts for two years.
Dr. Elia has always had an interest in alternative medicine which prompted her to further her studies and earn a Certificate of Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA) in 2012 from the Chi Institute. She finds acupuncture to be a wonderful adjunct to traditional medicine and she has been extremely pleased with its success in her patients. She also has a special interest in dentistry and ophthalmology.
Nitsan Tal, DVM
Dr. Nitsan Tal, a veterinarian at Cresskill Animal Hospital, grew up in Israel and currently resides in Closter, New Jersey. She received an undergraduate degree from Tel Aviv University in 1992 and a DVM degree from Koret School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. In addition to practicing at Cresskill Animal Hospital, Dr. Tal has also spent time practicing at Lefferts Animal Hospital in Richmond Hill, New York.
Dr. Tal's medical interests include internal medicine, endocrinology, soft tissue surgery and emergency medicine. She appreciates establishing close relationships with her clients and their pets. She also enjoys photography and spending her leisure time with her friends and family as well as her pet cat.
Frank Gomez, DVM
Dr. Frank Gomez of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, joined Cresskill Animal Hospital in November 2016. He received his undergraduate degree from Bethany College in 2010, and his DVM from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2014.
In 2015, Dr. Gomez completed a rotating small animal internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls, NJ, and in 2016 he completed a ophthalmology internship at the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center in Levittown, PA. His special interests include ophthalmology and internal medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Gomez enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and exercising. He has a whippet dog named Jethro at home.
